Broadway Parish Plan 2005

July 2006: The Parish Plan is now complete, and the public consultation has finished.

In early 2005, Broadway village is putting together a parish plan for the future. This aims to capture the needs of all those who use the village: residents, businesses and visitors, young and old. The idea is to use this plan to help guide local authorities and other bodies when they're making decisions that affect us. If you want to know more about the background to this, you can find it here, but this page gives you the short form.

It's important that everyone has a say in this. If you don't say what's important to you, don't be surprised if someone else's ideas take priority. Put bluntly, if we don't decide, someone will do it for us.

Nearly 750 forms and over 3,900 individual responses received.

Community... Environment... Roads and Footpaths... Events... Parking... Shops... Sports Facilities...

The plan is being led by a Steering Group of community volunteers. Before anyone asks, we're not doing this for political reasons, or to become famous, or powerful. So what's in it for us? Well, we're doing it because we care, because we're idealistic, and because we want to make the best of the village we live and work in. And no, we're not spending your Council Tax on this: the whole process is being funded through central government funds and by generous donations from the local traders. You can find more details here.

We need your help, though: there are obviously many more people out there who can help bring about change, and you might be one of them. Please get involved.

You can contact the Steering Group at plan@broadwayvillage.org.uk.
