Broadway and District Cancer Support Group

Meets on 1st Thursday of each from 3-4pm in Signpost Offices, 4 Russell Square, off the High Street. Feel free to drop in. This is a new group formed in March 2006 to provide support for cancer sufferers/survivors, carers, and family members; providing an opportunity for encouragement, information and fellowship. (Signpost office phone is 1386 859209 (answerphone available).)


Broadway and District Memory Cafe

Signpost with the Alzheimers Society are running a monthly memory cafe for people with memory problems to attend with their family, friends, or carers in Broadway and District, at

Methodist Church Hall, High Street Broadway WR12 7AJ from 10am to 12pm, every third Thursdsay of the month, starting 17 September 2009.

Broadway Fire Station

Broadway fire station is crewed by members of the local community who have undergone firefighting training to become retained firefighters. These men and women respond to emergency calls in their area in all conditions and whatever the time of day. The station currently has thirteen retained firefighters who meet on Monday evenings for training drills. One Dennis SS water ladder can be swiftly deployed to any fire or rescue incident.

Local Government- Broadway Parish Council

Elected and co-opted representatives meet seven times a year (on a Thursday, at Russell Sq.) to run the parish. The office is generally open from 10:30-1pm Monday-Friday. The Clerk can be seen by appointment. Agendas and minutes are on the webpage here and posted in the library and parish noticeboard opposite the Lygon Arms. Meetings are open to the public.

Help and information for all ages. Access to national agencies. Mon Age Concern with Signpost 10-3, DIAL monthly 1-3pm, Tues. Relate counselling- appointments only- through Worcester Relate; Thurs. Signpost help and information. Photocopying. 10-3; Citizens Advice Bureau 4th Thurs. 1-3pm; Cancer Support Group 1st Thursdays of the month 3-4pm; By appointment- CRUSE (or other) counselling Signpost Day; 1st Thurs 3-4pm Cancer Support Group;  TBA 4-7pm: Relate counselling; By appointment: CRUSE and other counselling; Special Days for local charities, national help agencies, Aim Higher advice. Nippy electric scooter available for short term loan.  3rd thurs. Memory Cafe for people with Dementia and their families at Methodist Church
